Carrying several tons of supplies and scientific experiments, the unpiloted SpaceX Dragon cargo craft arrived at the International Space Station Feb. 23 following its launch atop the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from the refurbished Launch Pad 39-A at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida. As Dragon completed its journey, ISS Expedition 50 Flight Engineer Thomas Pesquet of the European Space Agency and Commander Shane Kimbrough of NASA used the station’s Canadarm2 robotic arm to capture Dragon, after which ground controllers sent commands to maneuver the vehicle to the Earth-facing port of the Harmony module where it was installed and bolted into place to spend a month.
